New York State Police troopers were dispatched to a stretch of Old Hopewell Road in Wappinger, where there was a report of a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival at the scene, investigators reported that they found a disabled vehicle in a ditch without any additional damage to the vehicle or other property.
Further investigation determined that the driver, identified as East Fishkill resident Christian Pulst, 39, was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. It was later determined that he was in possession of .8 grams of cocaine.
Pulst was arrested at the scene and charged with a felony count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. Following arraignment, Pulst was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Wappinger Justice Court on April 11 to answer the charges.
